Deeply influenced by world cultures and flavors
— Franchesca Nor, Dive owner/entrepreneur —
brings her unique taste of the oceans to Dallas.
A recent Miami, florida arrival, Nor graduated summa cum laude from Johnson and Wales University, where she majored in Culinary and Food Service Management (2006). She has since worked in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
Born and raised in Southern California, Nor is the daughter of a Brazilian and a Highland Park native. She has lived in Aspen, colorado, Lake Tahoe, california, Florence, italy, and Miami Beach, florida. Her new concept and venture, Dive Restaurant, centers around a menu that reflects influences from her childhood as well as her travels and education.
Nor became interested in food at a very young age, from the legendary restaurants of Los Angeles in her childhood to her culinary journey in Florence, Italy where she attended a course at
The Cordon Bleu School in 2001.
Nor was schooled by different culinary masters, such as Chef Alan Susser, founder of the Mango Gang in Florida along with Norman Van Akan. She also worked for Chef Andrea Curto-Randazzo, winner of Food and Wine Magazines Americas Best New Chef award in 2000 at her celebrated Talula Restaurant in South Beach, Miami. She then helped launch David Boulets Evolution, a prestigious restaurant at the Ritz Carlton in South Beach. Most recently, she partnered with Ernesto Arguello to start a new boutique accommodation in the heart of South Beach called STAY at Lincoln, which was published in Vogue and Ocean Drive Magazine.
